Description
Franconia New Hampshire is a hotbed of trail activity. Mountain bikers, road bikers and fat bikers are all attracted to the many miles of trails in this area. The map above is a multiuser reference shows Franconia's extensive existing trail map of in valley trails. The map link above sends you to the northernmost parking areas on the map at Fox Hill Park and The Dow Park. It's a good place to start exploring the entire system. An alternate place to park is the Franconia Inn located closer to the center of the map.
The Town of Franconia is behind this effort and linking the town's trails to a larger overall network is underway. A trail has been developed that originates across the river from Dow Park that extends down to the Old Stone Furnace by the junction of route 18 and route 117. The Iron Furnace Brewery is located across the street from that intersection and plans to formally incorporate trails extending and down river into Sugar Hill to Ski Hearth Farm are in development.
