Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary, Oxford
98 Perkins Rd
Oxford Connecticut 06478United States
Rockhouse Hill Preserve and its environs are great for a variety of loops from beginner to expert. Approximately 1500 continguous acres comprise this riding area.
HVNEMBA is currently working with the Oxford Conservation Commission and the Oxford Youth Conservation Corps to make the trails more sustainable, build more purpose built single track , and make the existing trails more moiuntain bike friendly.
A good beginner loop of about 4 miles is to start at the cut-de-sac at the end of Perkins Rd, and take the green white to the blue white and then turn left on the red white. Follow out to Moose Hill and turn left on the road. Go up the hill and turn into the trail head for a fun lollipop loop . Return the way you came.
For more technical riding , park at the main lot near Oxford High School and ride on that side of the street. The two maps above do not show the totality of the trails in this area. More are being built at this time. (Check the HV NEMBA Facebook Page for upcoming trail dates.) But, they will get you started.
