Goodwin Natchaug Epic Fun Ride
We’re going for broke again. We have some ideas being tossed around for another epic adventure. This year we will be featuring more of Natchaug, but still offering up some of the Goodwin trails you love.
The ride will start from 23 Potter Rd in Hampton.
Short Loop: (6ish miles) Enjoy the scenic trails of Goodwin State Forest and preview some of the great riding it has to offer.
Intermediate Loop: (15+ miles) Not interested in the Epic challenge, but definitely looking for more than 6 miles. No worries, we’ve got you covered. This loop will start off with a great cadence warm up heading straight out toward Natchaug. You will get a nice sample of some of Natchaug’s finest and then you can enjoy a great rest stop, with tons of character, some refreshments and snacks, and a few laughs while you gear up for the rest of your ride. You will have the option of SingleTrack or Airline on the return to the potluck you, no doubt, earned.
Epic Loop: (25+ miles) If you’ve attended this event in the past and attempted to be hero for a day by going for the long loop, you know how EPIC of a ride the combination of these two forests presents.
This year you will be taking on more of the gnar of Natchaug, where the majority of your battle will be. Then come back through after the grueling assault to gather your strength before making the final push back to Goodwin for the pot luck BBQ.
Once again we’ve put together a new loop to keep it interesting, and keep you wondering why you chose to torture yourselves.
This event will be running in conjunction with CT Trails Day Weekend activities at Goodwin Conservation Center, so bring the family to enjoy non biking activities as well. For more information on other activities visit Friends of Goodwin Forest
The Goodwin/Natchaug combination provides riders with a vast array of trails, route options, and miles upon miles of endless terrain to explore. Running through part of both of these state forests, there is also the Airline Trail, a section of the East Coast Greenway, which provides a scenic option for the more casual rider.
