On Sunday, November 14th, I will be leading the first of two trail work days for my Eagle Scout Project, and I'm looking for volunteers. My name is Owen Eldridge, I’ve been working with the town on this project for almost two years now, and I'm pleased to announce that my project was awarded a Recreational Trail Grant.
For the last 6 months, I've been planning, cutting trail corridors and preparing for the final build days, and I’m nearing the last major steps of this project.
On this day, there are two activities planned that I need volunteers for:
The first and biggest priority is to build two bridges, a 240’ bridge and a second bridge 180’. The materials for this project are being supported through a Recreational Trail Grant that was awarded for this project. We have been given permission to utilize ATVs to transport the materials into the woods from the parking lot, and most of the materials will already be on site (on the trail) by the time volunteers arrive to construct them on the 7th and the 14th.
SEMASS NEMBA will provide basic tools, but if volunteers have impact screw guns with spare batteries, please feel free to bring them.
The second part of my project involves finish-grading the trail tread, including bench cutting into hillsides, refining the outslope of the trail tread, and removing sapling roots and duff layers (where needed). For this work, SEMASS NEMBA is providing tools for volunteers. (Rogue Hoes, Rock Bars, Shovels, Rakes, Loppers, etc).
Please refer to NEMBA Covid guidelines https://www.nemba.org/news/nemba-covid-19-guidance-rides-trail-care-events

Any questions, please feel free to contact me at the email below.
Please Sign NEMBA's Annual Waiver ahead of time if you haven't already done so.
Thank You
Owen Eldrige
