F. Gilbert Hills High Rock Boardwalk Build Day
Please Join the DCR, FoFGH, KPTR, and NEMBA on Sunday October 6, 2019 in building a boardwalk on the popular Yellow Loop in the F Gilbert Hills State Forest in Wrentham..
The Boardwalk will be approximately 30 feet long. Volunteers will help carry tools and material to the build site which is a short hike from a service road. You can see the build site below.
Please bring sturdy shoes, gloves, eye protection, and water. We will have a small inventory of gloves and eye protection if you do not have these items. NEMBA and KPTR will also provide tools but please bring a cordless drill/driver or hammer if you have one you are comfortable with it. (We always seems to run low on juice).
We will meet at the parking lot on High Rock road off Route 1. Approximate address for GPS to the entrance of High Rock Road is 199 US Rt 1 Wrentham MA.
Please arrive by 8:45 for registration and to enjoy some Coffee and Donuts.
Save time by signing NEMBA's once a year ride and trail care waivers ahead of time.
At 9:00 am, we will discuss the build and safety then carpool/hike over to the work site.
We should be done by Noon and lunch will be provided.
For those with energy, there will be post lunch rides and a hike and we can try out the new boardwalk!
Hope to see you there.
You do not have to be a member of NEMBA, FoFGH, or KPTR to take part in this event. You just have to want to make F. Gilbert Hills' trails better.
