Kingston Town Trails Maintenance Day

5/2/15 9:00am

Joe Basile is organizing a cool project down in Kingston that fellow rider. A local mountainbike access trail, to add to the cool 7 mile loop that he rides with students every week. Joe also leads a NEMBA novice ride there every Thursday.

Bring your favorite loppers or trail saw, or we will supply whatever tools you need. Gloves, eye protection recommended. Tick repellent HIGHLY recommended.

Here's the info: The plan is to meet at the Silver Lake Regional Middle School parking lot located behind the administration building (260 Pembroke Street/Route 27, Kingston, MA 02354) on Saturday, May 2nd for a 9:00 A.M. start. The area is called the Cranberry Preserve.

Joe will lead the bikers to the section to be cleared, towing the hand tools on my bike trailer while Angelina will lead the walkers. The section of trail that needs to be cleared is about one mile from the parking lot and is small by NEMBA standards, it is less than a half a mile of growth around an old bog. We plan on working until noon when we will return to the parking lot for pizza and water. After lunch, anyone wishing to go on a led ride will get to see the roughly 7 mile loop Joe does weekly with the SLOBO students and with the Thursday NEMBA novice ride.
