7/7/18 (All day)
On Saturday, July 7, we are sponsoring our fifth volunteer trail work day of the season. This is an important work day as we’ll be weed whacking sections of the trails (race course) for the 8th Annual Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge the following weekend. In addition, we'll be doing general summer trail maintenance. We have a few weed whackers to loan out but if you own a weed whacker, please bring it to the trail work day. Please also bring string and a mix fuel tank. We'll provide the fuel. Don't forget to bring eye and ear protection too.
DURATION: Appoximately 5 hours.
Please RSVP to the work day leader, Josh Tauses, at email@example.com.
ACTIVITIES: Light trail maintenance, prepping the trails for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge the following weekend.
ITEMS TO BRING: Water, sturdy gloves and footwear, safety glasses/protective eyewear, insect repellent, rain gear (just in case), lunch or snacks, your kids because this is a kid-friendly event (using only light tools), tools you may have available (such as weed wackers, rakes, loppers, hand shears), cell phones so we can communicate issues that pop up, and your bike as there will be a group ride at the end of the work day, weather permitting.
Our trail work days are open to people of all ages and abilities. All that is required is enthusiasm and a willingness to work together; the club provides direction, tools, and work project locations. We need your help maintaining the beautiful trail network in Carrabassett Valley. Please join us. Trail work days are always fun and productive!
