Blackstone Valley NEMBA's 2nd Annual Fun Ride @ Douglas State Forest

10/21/18 9:00am to 3:00pm

Blackstone Valley NEMBA’s 2nd Annual Fun Ride

Will be held at Douglas State Forest, a DCR Property

107 Wallum Lake Road Douglas, Ma. 01516

on October 21st, 9am registration. Event ends at 3pm.

The weather for this Sunday's Fun Ride looks good. Cool, partly cloud and mostly dry. In my opinion, perfect for riding.

We have a long loop and a short loop set up for Sunday. The long loop is 13 or so miles with three extra miles of extra chunky knar for those looking for more challenge. The short loop is partly shared with the demo loop. The demo loop is about five miles and the short loop is about six miles. There will be options for additional mileage on this loop as well. Check it out at the registration tent.

The bike shops are coming:

Fritz's Bike Shop will be bringing their set up and preforming basic tuneups and safety checks. If you think you have an issue, stop by their tent and get it check out. Papa Wheelies will be bringing their set up and some demo bikes. Giants and Specialized. And of course they can also perform minor fix-ups. They may have a spare helmet or peddles around if needed too. Milford Bike just got a couple of demo's in and they will be at the Fun Ride with them. They to will have all their tools, bike stand and so on. Stop by if you need help getting your bike dialed in.  JRA is bringing their new transit van full of demo bikes to the Fun Ride. But we're not sure exactly which brands they are bringing. You'll have to stop by their set up to check em out.

Uxbridge First Holiday Night Committee is the name of the food truck that is bringing the tacos and chili. Good stuff for a cool day.

Larry Joe's New England Fire Pit is the other food truck that will at the Fun Ride. Larry Joe is famous for his hot dogs, his singing and especially his toppings. They are a "must try".

Bret Talbert will be setting up by the fire pit and playing the guitar for us. Bret is a buddy of Fitch's and I'm told he will take requests.

The entrance fee is $10 for members. Kids under 15 are free to ride with their adults. $20 for non-members. Free if you join NEMBA on Sunday, $35. If you are a past member please re-up before you arrive.

This event is intended to be fun for riders of all ages and riding abilities.
