Bridge Building @ Pittsfield State Forest
Pittsfield State Forest Workday: Beaver Tail Boardwalk Building
Saturday 5/18 from 9-12
Come join Trail Team Leader Erik Forestell for the first part of NEMBA’s Beavertail Boardwalk repair project. This has been a long time in the naming and we’re excited to get this trail fixed up!
The goal is to replace and build bridges to avoid the series of wet spots on Beaver Tail to make it more rideable and protect the natural area around it.
**Volunteers should park on Churchill Street (NOT inside PSF as usual) ...across from Camp Winadu, https://goo.gl/maps/zo9CU5rboao6Va2M9. Please park along the road, not in the field, which is muddy.
Work will involve moving the building materials to the build sites, digging (in the mud), and constructing boardwalks (please bring cordless drills and batteries if you have them!!) Be prepared for working in the mud....lots of mud, but bring your bike for a ride afterward!
Remember NEMBA now has a once-a-year Waivers if you havent already done so sign them before the event and same.
If you haven’t already signed a DCF waiver you’ll need to do that there...
Late breaking details will be posted to this Facebook Page.
