Enduro Racing Returns to Diamond Hill
After four years away, the Eastern States Cup came back to Rhode Island - and the community showed up in a big way.
Enduro racing came back to Rhode Island this weekend, and after four years away and three years of planning to make it happen, it was worth every moment of the wait. The RI chapter partnered with RINEMBA member Willem Cooper of CycleCraft Fitness to host an Eastern States Cup Enduro at Diamond Hill Park, with a portion of proceeds going toward the ongoing trail construction at Echo Lake.
More than a race, it was a celebration of Rhode Island’s riding community.
This event was a monumental undertaking from the start. The permitting process, spanning both town and state land, began around Thanksgiving and took months of careful coordination before the first course tape went up. It came together through the tireless work of the RI leadership team and more than 40 volunteers who stepped up for everything from parking and registration to course marshalling to make race weekend feel seamless.
The result spoke for itself: 200+ racers lined up to compete, spectators packed the venue all weekend, and the atmosphere was electric from the first stage to the last. This wasn’t just a race, it was a reminder of what’s possible when a passionate community of volunteers and partners rally around something they care about.
