Millers Pond State Park has been in the State's domain since 1955. There are numerous trails and a scenic lake that is very popular with area fishermen.
This is a very popular area for mountain biking with a lot of freeride type drops, jumps, and stunts. The stunts are all legal and well constructed (although the run ups could be smoother). The stunts are mostly intermediate to advanced level (due mostly to the lack of good run ups) but there are chicken lines around almost all of them.
The red trail, just completed last fall, has two distinct sections, that in the northern section of the park, which leaves directly from the parking lot, and that in the southern part, which is accessed off of the dirt road just inside the gate. The northern section is the more cross country oriented, with fast, flowing turns and prolonged climbing in either direction. Although clearly a cross country oriented trail, there are still ample opportunities to drop, jump, and huck. It will take the average rider about an hour to complete this section, and there are few bailout options.
The southern section and the red/white (a shortcut back to the pond) are pure freeride, with twisting, rocky climbs, log ramps, drops, and hucks in rapid succession. It will take the average rider about 1.5 hours to complete this section (red to red/white), and it should not be attempted alone.
