NW CT NEMBA Weekly Thursday Ride - Harwinton

Event Date

7/7/16 5:30pm
We're switching things up a bit for this ride and moving things to Harwinton. For those who don't know: The Town of Harwinton has been working with NW CT NEMBA over the last couple of years to establish mountain bike trails on their properties. A lot of work has been done and we're going to check it out!

Our plan right now is to have one group do about 10 miles at a moderate pace, though we could split into 2 groups if needed. The goal is to show off the trails and terrain in the area. It will be a nice change of pace from the riding in Burlington that normally do for our group rides.

Meet at 5:30 at the Harwinton Town Hall at 100 Bentley Drive.

NW CT NEMBA All Levels Social Ride - Morning edition

Event Date

7/4/16 8:00am

Join Dennis and Margie for another of our no-drop Monday social rides. This time we'll get in a nice cool morning ride!

Geared toward newer riders but we always split up into two groups and have a faster and longer ride, too.

Depending on the group you go with you could be riding a mellow 4-6+ miles or a faster 8-10+ miles with more climbing and technical features.

Meet at the Nassahegan soccer fields at 8:00 a.m. with the goal of rolling out by 8:15.

NW CT NEMBA Thursday Ride

Event Date

5/26/16 5:30pm
Let's do it all again this week. Last week we rolled 26 strong in 3 different groups. Can we top that this week? We plan on 3 groups again. This past Thursday, our leaders were pushed by their groups a bit beyond our mileage expectations for each group so let's reset our estimates to: Group A is 6-8 miles; Group 2 is 9-11 miles; and Group X is 11-13+ miles. No matter what group you feel most comfortable in this is still a no drop social ride. There will be a good mix of abilities on these rides, so don't let the "intermediate" label scare you off.

We'll be back at Sessions Woods WMA off of route 69 in Burlington this week. Let's meet at 5:30 and try to be rolling by 5:45-6:00.

If you're on the fence about going - Just do it! We have some fun loops planned again for this week!

NS NEMBA Harold Parker Thursday Ride

Event Date

Repeats every week every Thursday until Thu Sep 28 2017 .
5/4/17 (All day)

The season has begun for the Thursday night NEMBA group ride in Harold Parker. We will ride each Thursday evening through September.

The ride is open to all who are interested in exploring the singletrack in Harold Parker and meeting other mountain bikers from the area. The pace is determined by the group, we wait at intersections and try not to get too spread out, we will not drop anyone. The pace will feel slow for the faster riders and fast for the slower riders. Ray Meyers and Bob Ganley will be teaming up to lead these rides, we may split into two groups some nights with a slightly slower and faster pace.

We meet at 5:45 in the Jenkins lot at the intersection of Jenkins and Harold Parker roads in Andover MA.

Here is a link to the location on Google Maps.

Each rider will need to sign a liability waiver and we will depart the parking lot at 6pm, returning at dusk.
