BK-NEMBA Spring Kick-Off Picnic

Date

5/7/16 10:00am to 2:00pm

At Todd Amato's house in Vernon VT. Lots of space for parking, riding right from his house, room for bike polo, and there is a pump track and Todd has been building! We ride at 10:30, and have leaders for a kids ride, a women's ride (but the ladies can ride in any group they want of course), a fast group, and a casual group. The groups will ride such that they meet up occasionally. Plan on a 2 hour ride. The social/food will start at 1Pm for those who can't make the ride. Family/kid friendly. Let us know if you are coming, and how many people. BYOB Address is 1362 Pond Rd, Vernon VT. There will be orange cones at the end of the driveways. Member or not, all are welcome. But we encourage you to join at www.nemba.org

BK NEMBA's unReal MTB Day

Date

3/26/16 7:30pm to 8:30pm

It is about to get unReal. Saturday (March 26th) is fast approaching and we've got a full day of MTB activities lined up in Keene, NH.

We'll kick the afternoon off at 2:30 with Drummer Hill group ride(s). The trails are dry, and the weather looks good - 50° and sunny. We should have enough leaders to keep the group sizes reasonable and accomodate a variety of ride lengths/difficulties. Meet at the Cheshire Medical Center (hospital) parking lot ready to roll. Please park on the Emergency Room side, out by the main road. The address is 580 Court Street Keene, NH 03431 or just follow the blue “H” signs... We will ride to the Drummer Rd/Green Acres trail head from there.
We are also working on getting things in place for a kids ride. Saturday Kids Ride details... Meet at Stonewall Farm at 3PM. We have plenty of people to help guide everyone around the farm. It sounds like we may have enough to split things into 2 groups of kids if need be.

After the ride we'll all converge at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. The address is 77 Main St, right in downtown Keene, and just a couple doors up from The Colonial Theater. There is plenty of parking out behind the restaurant, and the bar is quite large so we'll have no problem accommodating a big group. We'll shoot for being at the restaurant around 5PM for drinks, dinner, or socializing. Just go to the bar side. If you want a table, see the hostess. We'll just start at the bar and go from there.

The doors at The Colonial Theater open at around 7PM for the 7:30 show. Again, just down the street. Try to get there a little early to get a free ticket for some awesome giveaways from Strava, Highland Mountain Bike Park, VMBA, West Hill Shop, Ted's Shoe and Sport, Likin' Bikin', Norm's Bike and Ski, and more – over $4,000 in prizes will be given away, to include a new Surly bike! There will also be a table set-up in the lobby with BK-NEMBA selling maps of Drummer Hill ($5, cash money).

After the show we'll head over to Elm City Brewery for some more food, drink, and socialization.

Stonewall Farm Trailcare

Date

11/1/15 8:30am to 11:00am

We'll be hanging some additional trail markers, putting some nice cedar arrows up at intersections, and clearing the trails of leaves. If we get a good turn out there is a little reroute I've been eyeing, but the main goal is to square the trails away for fall/winter.

Also, following the workday, Advanced Cyclist will be having a demo day at 11 right there at the farm. Get a full day of bikes in.

Remember, Daylight Savings Time ends that morning...

We'll meet at stonewall Farm - HERE
