Fairfield County NEMBA - Farrington Trail Maintenance

Date

5/18/14 9:00am to 2:00pm

Continued work on building new sustainable trail system. All tools will be provided, please bring work gloves, bug spray, sturdy work boor and water.

t's pretty easy to find, and I'll provide directions from 84, but it's probably smart to plug the address (125 Mill Plain Rd, Danbury 06811) into a GPS to find the best route for you. Okay, so from exit 1 on I-84W, take a right off the ramp, get in the right lane at the next light, but be prepared to turn left. The road you'll be entering is Mill Plain/Rt 6/Rt 202, and immediately after you're through the light, look for a driveway on the right and a sign that says '9 Ton Bridge'. Take that drive and follow it straight back to the parking lot on the left. If you're coming from Ridgefield, it might be easier to take Ridgebury Rd, to Saw Mill, but again, check your route before you head out. SECT NEMBA - Hartman Park Red Trail Bridge

Date

4/26/14 8:30am to 12:30pm

Planning on finally putting in the bridge at Hartman Park on the Red trail.

Meeting at the *field gate* just north of the main lot on gunny road.
(if you see the entering salem sign you've gone about 1/4 mile to far)

the Bridge is all pre-cut and marked out so assembly should be rather quick and easy. It's will be 3 parts so the Power Company can pull it out of the way if they need access on the road. though we've moved it over about 5 feet so they shouldn't need to move it. If you have a Cordless IMPACT driver that would be a big help!! #2 Square bits for the screws.

some final clean up of the grounds around the area of re-route need a bit of clipping so clippers/snippers and hand saws would be helpful.

If you plan on join us, please e-mail me at thom@SECTNEMBA.org

We will probably have to ride it after.. and more of the park :) Read more about SECT NEMBA - Hartman Park Red Trail Bridge
