GBNEMBA Kids Ride Series

Event Date

6/14/15 10:30am to 12:00pm
Come join GBNEMBA for the second Kids’ Ride of the season at Beaver Brook North, Belmont (https://goo.gl/maps/YFvRC) on Sunday June 14th at 10:30am.  Kids’ Rides are a great way for kids and teens to build strong bodies, build confidence, have tons of fun and enjoy being outside!

The Kids’ Rides are designed for children ages 6-15.  Based on the skill levels of the participants, we typically break into two groups: one for kids who have more experience with riding, and a second group for beginners.  All we ask is no training wheels.

No registration is required.  If you have any questions about the Kids’ Rides please contact Andrea Jones.

NEMBA RIDE SERIES

  • May 2nd - Middlesex Fells - Medford
  • May 23rd - Maudslay Park - Newburyport (see North Shore NEMBA)
  • June 14th - Beaver Brook North - Belmont
  • July 11th - Great Brook Farm Ice-cream ride - Carlisle

  • August 8th - LandLock Forest - Burlington
  • September 27th - Maudslay Park - Newburyport (see North Shore NEMBA)
  • October 3rd - Middlesex Fells - Medford (Take a Kid MTB day)

These rides allow children to have fun while enjoying the outdoors and getting some fitness.  In addition to learning some biking skills, we teach respect for the parks, trails, and other trail users.  The ride will be well staffed and every safety precaution will be observed (we typically have one of the MTB Patrol along if first aid is needed).  Parents are welcome on the ride but not required.  Riders must have a serviceable bike, properly fitted helmet, and water for the ride.  All riders must wear closed-toed shoes - no flip flops or sandals.  Snacks will be provided!

LLF Parking Update - OK to Park at Estabrook School on Weekends

Thursday, April 30, 2015

LLF Parking update: The Town of Lexington has approved parking at the Estabrook School on weekends for Landlocked Forest access. This is great news as it will reduce the volume at the powerlines lot during its highest-use times. Please consider parking there first if you are planning on riding LLF. It is a very short ride from there to the powerlines entrance of LLF. Thanks for helping us reduce congestion at the powerlines lot!

It also goes without saying that we need to respect the school property, please no changing kit in public there especially, please help keep it clean and tidy and probably also a good idea to use the parking farthest from the school entrance.

MVNEMBA Friday Ride @ RM & GBF

Event Date

Repeats every week every Friday until Fri Nov 27 2015 .
4/24/15 5:00pm to 8:00pm
Join us for our Friday group ride at Russell Mill and Great Brook Farm!  This is an advanced-intermediate skill level technical ride, typically 12-20+ miles in length (longer during prime riding season when we include a loop to GBF).   Some road riding is necessary to connect the two locations.

We have two start times to accomodate traffic and schedules.  A warmup loop of a few miles starts just after 5PM, and comes back through the parking lot before 6PM to pick up late arrivals.

Parking lot is directly across from 1 Raymond Road, Chelmsford MA.  Look for signs for the Murphy Soccer Fields.  Park in the back lot, further from the street.
