Quick updates from GB's March chapter meeting

1. GB's 2015 officers: President, Adam Glick; Vice President, Maciej Sobieszek; Vice President, Rick Forzese; Treasurer, Bill Cohn; Secretary, Greg Jones. Thank you Maciej, Rick, and Bill for your continued service! Thank you, Greg for stepping up your involvement to become our Secretary!

2. Big, BIG thanks to GB's long-time, outgoing Treasurer, Claire Grimble. Claire has been GB's financial steward for at least a decade and we are greatly indebted to her commitment to GBNEMBA
3. 2015 Weekly Ride series hopes to continue where 2014 left off with Monday Beginner/Novice ride at Beaver Brook North, Monday PYT Ride at Russell Mills, Wednesday Social Ride at the Fells, and Thursday Social Ride at Landlocked Forest. Stay tuned for possibly one more weekly ride option, too!

4. Trail work. We are working at planning an publicizing in advance a slate of trail work days at the Fells, LLF and Beaver Brook North. We need to take care of what we ride and it all happens through the hard work of our volunteers, i.e. YOU! You can be a part of it - make a goal of getting to at least one trail work event near you this season!

5. Hard to believe but the Fells Opener is about 8 weeks away. As much as I love the snow, we need it to melt! Stay tuned for details on this event in the near future!

Volunteer opportunities: it's easy to get involved with GBNEMBA and a great way to to start is to learn to be a Ride Guide or show up at a trail work event. Ride Guides make our weekly rides happen smoothly and are a central resource for us. Trail work is easy! You show up and we'll teach you what needs to be done for that day. If you discover that you have a compulsive urge to learn more, we'll get you through our Trail School (up at KT this year in May).

If you're interested in being a Ride Guide, send Adam Glick adam@nemba.org
