NEMBA TrailFests are weekend camping, trailbuilding and riding events that celebrate NEMBA's work hard / play harder philosophy.
Come spend a weekend with other riders from around New England, build some great trails, camp out, and ride. It doesn't get much better!
Carrabassett Region NEMBA presents:
TrailFest at Maine Huts & Trails
June 8-9, 2013
CR NEMBA is planning a NEMBA Trail Fest with Maine Huts & Trails in Carrabassett Valley, Maine for June 8th and 9th 2013.
We will be breaking ground on a new single track trail that will connect the town's Narrow Gauge rail trail and the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center to Maine Huts & Trails new Stratton Brook Hut (opened Dec. 2012). Hardy Avery of Sustainable Trail Works will be designing and pin flagging the trail in May. This is a significant undertaking for MH&T and the first major mountain bike specific trail project that they have undertaken. Check out MH&T website to see what there are all about, and be sure to check out the Stratton Brook hut while on the page.
Volunteers are the guests of Maine Huts and Trails who will be providing their fully staffed hut to us at no cost. Participants will have free lodging on Friday and Saturday nights June 7th & 8th. Dinner on Friday night; Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Breakfast and lunch on Sunday will be provided at no cost to volunteers. The word "Hut" is a misnomer; this "Hut" is a million dollar, self-sufficient facility in the wilderness on a hill with sweeping views and includes, bunk houses, flush toilets, showers and a full service commercial kitchen.
Friday, June 7th - Arrive in Carrabassett Valley and ride your bike, camp fire fun at Stratton Brook Hut
Saturday, June 8th - breakfast at 7:30AM at Stratton Brook Hut; trail work 8:30AM - 2:30PM (lunch served on the trail), back to the hut for a ride at 3:30PM; dinner at 7:00PM then more camp fire fun.
Sunday, June 9th - breakfast 8:00AM; trail work 9:00AM - 1:00PM, back to the hut for a ride
This is the first time CR NEMBA has hosted a NEMBA TrailFest, we have a limited kit of tools and number of individuals that can lead teams of trail builders. We hope other chapters will participate, bring their tool kits and key trail builders. We will not be able to complete the trail in one weekend. The plan is to leave an example of a super fun and sustainably built trail… Like a template.
Did I say free beer? If not, FREE BEER! Provided by Geary's Brewing Company

NEMBA TrailFest @ Highland Mountain Bike Park
Sept. 21-22, 2013
Join many of NEMBA’s core trailbuilders for a weekend of building and riding at Highland Mountain Bike Park on Sept. 21-22.
We’ll be building some awesome XC singletrack on the property adjacent to Highland for the first part of each day, and then doing some downhilling and cross-country riding for the rest of the day. We’ll be camping and using the showers and restrooms in teh bunkhouse at Highland Saturday night (but you’ll be welcome to come up Friday night, if you wish). On Saturday evening we’ll have BBQ, beverages and a bonfire. Mark, the owner of HMBP, has generously offered to provide comp passes to those that come build. You might wish to rent a DH bike to maximize your fun!
If you enjoy building trails, this weekend is not to be missed!
If you are a NEMBA trail crew leader willing to lead a work crew, please let us know. We’re going to need quite a few crew leaders. We’ll try to have a meeting of crew leaders the Friday afternoon before the event to review the work sites.
Also, please let Adam & Mike know via the RSVP link below know that you’ll be coming to the event. The bunkhouse is now full, but we're still accepting volunteers who will camp.

Southern NH NEMBA presents:
NEMBA TrailFest at
Bear Brook State Park, Oct 5-6
Join Southern NH NEMBA the day before the Kona Bicycles MTB Adventure Ride at Bear Brook (Bear Brook Boogie) for a day of trail building at beautiful Bear Brook State Park. Help use continue our new collaboration with the State Bureau of Trails to improve and increase the singletrack at Bear Brook. Numerous projects are planned so we really need your help.
Start time is 8:45am. Meet at the park entrance at the toll booth on Deerfield Rd.
After trailbuilding on Saturday we'll have a BBQ at Hayes Field. We'll also reserve some campsites for those who wish to spend the night, and we'll even do a night ride, and then return to the campground to hang around a nice warm campfire. Both the camping and the BBQ will be complimentary for all volunteers.
Pre-registration Required. Please RSVP to Matt Caron and let him know if you will be camping so we can get enough campsites. Even if you are not camping we need a count for food. Hope you can make it because we have some great improvements to make to an already awesome ride destination.
