I brought my son to Mines Falls today. Only his second time out riding(he's 9).. He had a couple of good crashes ,but no injurys.. The weather was perfect. I hope we have a few more weeks of semi decent weather. I hate the cold now,But I will try to ride further into the winter this year. I have a feeling were gonna get crushed with snow this year .. Ride on!
o.k. How about the 2 of you(nembamike and gumby punk) **** OFF! WTF! Thought it was great to get my kid started in mountain biking. Guess this forum is just for self center jackasses!
It's great that you started your son mtb'ing. Anytime you see some obvious BS replies to a posting, just ignore them. Keep riding until the snow flies, then build up a beater hardtail and put some studded tires on it and ride through the winter ! ;D

O.K. E.B. First of all you should try to refrain from using profanity as there are women and children who read this stuff. Second, the idea of a forum is to create some kind of dialogue. Just spewing out random incomplete thoughts does not spark dialogue. Try asking a question or telling us about something that we are all interested in or at least might be. Just posting a collection of random words that attempt to form complete sentences is lame. Your post looks like something a first grader would write about what they did last weekend. Maybe your son can help you with both your grammer and the formation of complete thoughts for your next write-up of the weekends adventures.
I look forward to your banal rambling.
Sorry if my riding with my son doesn't intrest you gumpy. Still there was no call for the response I got from you two jackasses(is this pg enough for you?).The point of my post was that I don't like riding in the cold weather and I wish I had more time to ride with him before it got to cold. I my not be as educated as you ,but at least I'm not an ignorant ass. Who put's other people down because you don't like what they had written in a post ,or how it was written. Sorry to all that I may have offended. In the future if you don't like a posting . Don't answer it. Keep your sarcasm to your self!
Hey Evil B you waited till 9 to get your son started Mt biking ? Mine is 6 and we went a did a ride in the nam yesterday ! Isn't great to be able to get out there with your son! I think it is the greatest!
Thats awesome. I tried to take him out a couple of years ago,but I pushed to hard and ruined it for him(over zealousl dad lol.). Now he can keep up with me some what .So we are having a blast. I have to get a digital camrea. He rode over a stack on logs that was about a foot off the ground 6 feet long row of logs. A good obstacle for an adult rider never mind a kid.I would have liked to get a pic of that.. :P The only problem now is finding a light enough bike for kids . I picked him up an 24"Iron Horse(30 + pounds). Still a bit heavy, but better than the toys-r-us special.. I should have waited and got him the specialized version...all aluminum. >.Oh well there's always next year.
well Right now , My son is on a Trek little BMX bike with 16 inch wheels , coaster brake and one hand brake. we have a Specilized Hard rock 20 ( 20 inch wheels ) it is a 7 speed, and no suspention , he really should be riding that at theis point , but he is not comfortabale with the hand brakes , and really doesn't understand the gearing yet.
