NSNEMBA Trail Work Day 4/14
Sunday April 14, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (or later)
Location: Brightview construction site Route 114 North Andover MA (former location of base lodge for old Boston Hill Ski Area). Map.
Project: Last fall, a new trail loop was added about .8 mi. long on the old ski hill connecting with the trail network at Ward Reservation (TTOR). Now we need to do a bit more work on the existing trail, build some boardwalks, and establish a new trail connector to the Cascade Trail in Ward. This will have additional boardwalks. A tractor will move material up the hill close to the area it is needed.
Bring gloves, sturdy footwear, and water/snacks. We will have plenty of tools, but feel free to bring your own pick mattock, hammer, hand saw, items appropriate for boardwalk work.
Lunch will be provided, and a ride could well take place in the afternoon at Ward Reservation.
Due to the terrain and type of work, and unlike most of our trail days, rain or poor ground conditions may cause a cancellation. Look for a confirmation by 4/13.
Another trail day will likely be needed to complete work. 4/21 and 4/28 are possible dates to return.

Big pile of boardwalk materials on site (along with a tractor to move the stuff up the hill!). Weather looks good. Please join us tomorrow for the first NSNEMBA trail day of the season. This is going to be a spectacular trail when it all done!
