NSNEMBA Trail Project 10/14
Sunday October 14, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location - (still tentative, look for confirmation later in the week) Brightview construction site Route 114 North Andover MA (former location of base lodge for old Boston Hill Ski Area). Map.
This project will take us several work days to complete, one this fall and several in the spring. Plan is to create a new trail loop about .8 mi. long on the old ski hill that connects in 2 spots with the trail network at Ward Reservation (TTOR). There is considerable tread work in addition to the usual corridor clearing and duffing. Several boardwalks will be needed to complete the project, but that will wait for springtime. We will be working alongside volunteers from the Trustees, Friends of N. Andover Trails, and N. Andover Conservation. When complete, this trail will be a great addition to the local trail system, with new public access point.
Bring gloves, sturdy footwear, and water/snacks. We will have plenty of tools, but feel free to bring your own pick mattock, loppers, hand saw, etc.
Lunch (and a ride weather permitting) after work will take place back at the Ward Reservation main parking area.
