    Default Riding near loon mountain

Hi everyone, I'm here in NH on vacation near loon. I hiked up Cannon mountain today and I get tomorrow by myself to go riding. I live in Dallas tx and ride mostly Xc trails. I know it's last moment but Where would the best place be for me to rent and ride all day? Not looking for downhill just good mileage and good Xc type trails with some fun up and down hills, thanks James

I don't know the area for Biking well, but you could go to Loon and I believe they rent the bikes there, you may even be able to find a guide. I know they do a Franconia Notch ride where they take you and the bike out in a van and you ride back, but that's not an XC ride it is a leisure ride. Here is the write up from the web site.

    Bicycle Rentals & Tours

Mountain biking is a popular activity for Loon guests. The full-service bike center offers complete bike rentals and repairs. We offer tag-alongs for tots, too! We'll also provide you the inside scoop on the best places to ride, and check out the Franconia Notch Tour.

I suggest heading up to Kingdom Trails. It's worth the hour drive.

Check out Franklin Falls right off 93 @ ex23. Havent ridden there myself but heard good things. Plenty of reviews online.

+1 for the kingdom trails. if you are already that far up in NH its totally worth the ride. Just make sure you are ready for it (in terms of fitness and food rations) bacuase you could pretty easily to 40+ miles if you spent most of the day there.

Another vote for Kingdom Trails if you've got a full day, or Franklin Falls at exit 22 if you're looking for 10-12 your-face-hurts-you're-smiling-so-much miles.

Also there are a couple of nice spots in Plymouth at Exit 26 about 20 minutes south of Loon. Fox Park and Gyroscope/floodplain are both fun - Fox a little more techy and hilly, Gyroscope flat/twisty/smooth. You can park once and ride through downtown Plymouth to get to the other. Neither are all day epics but you can hit them both in a morning or afternoon and have fun. Then hit the Lucky Dog saloon for post-ride refueling. Rhino Bike Works is the lbs right outside of downtown.

Link to a tough "epic" loop from Lincoln to Waterville Valley and back. Not exactly biking trails, but hiking trails that don't dis-allow biking.
This guide starts from the Waterville side rather than Lincoln, but you get the idea.
NOT recommended if you aren't up for some tough riding. You can stock up on drinks and snacks (or call for a rescue) in Waterville Valley village square.

Can also always take route 112 (aka "The Kanc") towards Conway, plenty of riding over in that area. Rob Brook, Red Tail, etc...real nice drive too.

Kingdom is always great, very very fun trails and atypically non-technical for New England.

The Visitor Information center right off of Rt 93 at the Loon exit used to (and still should) have good info and maps of legal biking trails in the White Mountains.
