    Default Stratton area

    Hi Vermonters!

I've been riding a lot in my local Pioneer Valley and Berkshires for the past two seasons. It now looks like I'll spend the next couple of months in the Stratton Village. Is there a lot of riding in the area?

    Thanks,
    Pete

About 20-30 minutes away you can ride the Crosstown Trails in West Dover Vt. Its about a 6 mile loop nothing crazy but some fun single track and a bit of cart path riding. If you are up for some downhill biking try Mt Snow that was a blast. I have searched for biking in that area without much luck. Enjoy.

OK, I will. But you didn't sound too assuring! I honestly expected something comparable to Pioneer Valley. Will be on the lookout.

Sorry I am not familiar with PV trails. I think you will enjoy it unless you are a die hard looking for a 3 hour ride on 20+ miles of trials. I guess I was managing expectations. The first time I rode it I was pleasantly surprised as the trail map (google it) makes it look more tame. Check it out.

hey Chip. I am really hungry for 4+ hr rides, but rarely can find enough time to just let go...It turns out Stratton has a small, but interesting network of XC trails at the Sun Bowl side. From what I've seen today, some of the ski trails have a hiking trail as well - not exactly single track, but should do it for daily fitness summit ascents. I'll now enjoy the PV area but things look bright and sunny now!
