Bike mag has a bike shoot out in the current mag, the Specialized Evo Stumpjumper (26er) was the favorite bike of most of the reviewers. Ok it was a limited number of bikes (though quite a representation!). Get that current issue, its got a good review of real riders on real trails over a period of time.
