Boardwalk construction in Lexington Oct 30 and Nov 5
I know a lot of you ride this area and Lexington Conservation has been good to us, so please help out if you can. Imagine not having to slog through this mud next spring.
Thanks

Dear Lexington Conservation Stewards and Friends, For those of you who have been waiting for the next opportunity to build new boardwalks, the time has arrived. The Lexington Conservation Stewards were again successful in obtaining a DCR grant for materials, this time for trail improvements in the Paint Mine property. The grant will pay for an eventual total of 1300’ of new boardwalks and bridges throughout this property. We are ready to begin this project with two work dates scheduled for October 30 and November 5. We will work from 8:30 until approximately 3:30 on both days, rain or shine. Partial day participation is very welcome. Bring work gloves and your own water bottle. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Lunch will be provided to those working through the middle part of the day. All tools and training will be provided, no experience necessary. This work qualifies for all LHS and Waldorf community service hour requirements. Be sure to bring your own forms. Meet at the back of Hennessy Field at the end of Mountain Road (off Turning Mill Road). Park under the power lines along Turning Mill Road NOT Mountain Road. Drop offs at the intersection of Mountain Road and Turning Mill Road. For further information contact Emily Schadler in the town’s Conservation office either by e-mail (landstewards@ci.lexington.ma.us) or phone (781-862-0500 ext. 240).
