The time is almost here to celebrate America's birthday with the 3rd annual "Red, White and Blue" Mountain Bike ride and BBQ! This year will be extra-special: The ride will take place Saturday, July 2nd, the same day as the Independence Day celebration in Greenfield! Greenfield hosts a big 4th-of-July celebration every year with activities and fireworks (http://www.greenfield-ma.gov/Pages/G...tion/Fireworks) - bring the whole family, even if they don't want to ride there will be plenty to do for everyone! Riders of all abilities are welcome.

Join us at Bicycles Unlimited at 5pm for a 1.5-2 hour ride on the infamous red, white and blue trails on the Rocky Ridge surrounding Poet's Seat Tower. Afterwards, relax and refuel with hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks, provided by PV-NEMBA, and stay to watch the Greenfield fireworks display starting at 9:30pm!!

Please let me know by Thursday, June 30th, if you're planning on coming so that we can shop accordingly (knoepfchen7@yahoo.com)!! Feel free to bring a dish to share as well as you beverage of choice (we will have non-alcoholic options available).

The Greenfield ridge is rocky at the top, and smooth with rocks and roots in the lower parts. We will start with a warm up on paved and gravel roads over to Highland Pond where we will transition to some easy single track that will gradually lead us to the top of the ridge. After crossing Mountain Rd we'll finish on red - white - blue and hopefully catch the sun setting over Greenfield on top of Poets Seat.

This ride will start at the Bicycles Unlimited parking lot at 5:00pm. Bicycles Unlimited is located at 322 High Street in Greenfield, next to the car wash.

Directions from I-91:
Take exit 27 off RT.91 and then you will take the first exit off RT.2 onto RT. 5&10 heading south. At the end of the ramp you will bear right at the Mobile gas station and then drive south on Bernardston Road to the traffic lights. Turn left onto Silver Street and go all the way to the end of the street. Take a right onto High Street at the next traffic light and we are 300 yards on the right next to the car wash.
