Default Where can I find hunting info?

Does anyone know where I can find dates for hunting at local parks? Also I heard some parks like Myles Standish are closed to NON-hunters during hunting season?

I forgot about this until I rode into a bunch of hunters the other day.

    Google

Just search for Massachusetts hunting season and it is all there. I have been riding mountain bikes for 25 years and have never had issues with hunters. If you are not comfortable riding while hunting is going on you can seek out local parks that dont allow hunting or ride on Sundays (no hunting in MA on Sunday).

never had an issue on trail with Hunters. I did run into 2 hunters a couple weeks ago on a Sunday! in Foxboro. It was a little surprising. If you feel the need to carry the Mass Environmental Police radio dispatch number for calling violations, go here.

Default Hunter free riding- no such thing

Hunters roam wherever they roam. 'Somewhere safe' is an illusion. Several bike shops sell hunter orange helmet covers, which I wear on occasion, but always wear something brightly colored over longsleeve layers in the autumn, moreso to protect me when riding to and from the trails (on roads) cuz' that is where the real danger exists.

I'm more worried about my dog than me. It's nice to know when to put the orange blaze on him.

Any specific shops, I've been looking for one. Freetown is full of hunters

Walmart/Kmart/Dick's etc are all good for cheap orange.

You can just stretch a knit cap over your helmet, couple bucks at Sprawlmart
