Bradbury Mountain State Park Trail Day, July 11, 2010
Greetings from the Friends of Bradbury Mountain,
The first trail day of the season at Bradbury Mountain will be held on Sunday, July 11, and projects that day will focus on improvements to the lower part of the Fox East Trail.
This is one of the muddiest areas of the park, and we will bridge several of the longer wet areas, turnpike the trail over a long wet section and harden multiple mudholes.
Our goal for this trail day is 30 volunteers. Please join us if you can, and spread the word.
To participate, please meet at the park shop at 8:00 that day, and bring water, a snack, bug spray and of course your bike if you want to ride afterward. Remember that all volunteers need to sign in with the park.
And, if you want to help with these projects, but cant make it on the 11th, we’ll have some things you could do during the week. Write us back at the email below if you’d like to work at a different time and we’ll work with you to find a project.
To prepare for the 11th, the lowest section of Fox East (between intersections 64 and 65) will be closed at some point during the 4th of July weekend. You can still access the remainder of this trail by riding up to the big (new) bridge on the Snowmobile Trail (intersection 82) and cutting over to Fox from there.
Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on the 11th. Happy trails.
