Heading to Fla to visit the inlaws and I'd like to get take advantage of the warm weather to get out on the road bike every day. I've got the bike all broken down and packed into my bike box but the price to ship looks pretty damn crazy - close to $300 out and back via ground (checked ups/usps/fedex).

Bringing it on the plane is not an option. Has anyone found a more reasonable/affordable way to ship a bike or should I just plan on golfing and getting drunk by the pool for a week?
