Hey Y'all -

Lake Minnewaska State Park (outside New Paltz, NY) is having a mountain bike expo on Saturday Sept. 13th. It runs from 10 AM to 4 PM and is free with the $6 park entrance fee. Rain date is Sept. 14th.

The expo will have guided rides of the park trails, group rides, rides with a naturalist, kid event, demo bikes and some free food and drink. It's being put on with the help of GUMBA (that's the Gunks Mountain Bike Association who does Bike Patrol in the Park) and the Fats in the Cats bike club.

Minnewaska has about 40 miles of carriage trails - basically wide doubletrack roads through out the park. The riding is non-technical but has many lovely views, cliff lines and 2 great lakes for swimming. If you've never been there you need to see it - it's a classic ride area. Great for kids and the whole fam.
