I procrastinated setting up a ride for Sunday (seems to be a recurring pattern) eventually I just did the solo thing at Case. Case really is pretty amazing from a water shedding perspective - 99.5% of the trails were completely dry and hard, a few soft spots, but just the usual suspects. When we rode there on Thursday night it was dry as a bone - today all the streams were full of water. Anyway, did the extended L2R loop over to the Blackledge Falls area and back - good 3 hour loop. I think there must be some way to do that new trail and not end up at the bottom of the hill? I didn't have a map with me and pretty much ended up back at the Blackledge Falls parking lot. That's a long climb to get back up to Birch Mountain Road! It was a great ride and ran into Accupunk and bud out there.
I got home and my wife wanted to go out for a ride, we didn't get out yesterday due to the nasty humidity. She loves Case so back we went. We did a shorter Blue/Fern/Swamp loop, making it back to the summit just in time for sunset. Gotta love that. Not many pics...
I tried riding really close to my wife and taking a picture using the flash in the camera - pretty cool result:
More boring sunset shots:
There was some dude up there trying to take shots and he kept getting in the background of my shots so we eventually gave up:
All in all a good 5 hours on the bike today...
