SS chain tension advice needed
hey!
My kid has decided that he wants to turn his Redline cross bike into an SS. But he doesn't want to use a tensioner and he doesn't want to spend money.
so, seeing as how the bike as vertical dropouts we find ourselves between gears for the proper chain tension on gearing that seems about right for him. he actually stuck a totally worn out chain on with some newer chain and thinks he an get it right. Not the best solution, eh?
Other than getting a tensioner (or using an old derailleur) or buying a fancy wheel with an eccentric hub, any ideas of other options?
