    Default Headset cleaning?

Buddy of mine sent me a used headset for my backup bike, but it's very dirty.
I'm used the sealed bearing kind and you don't clean em.

This one is not sealed ... it's a RaceFace ... it's an open style, but I'm not sure the bearing will pop out of the cup ... did not look like it at first glance.

Like to clean and regrease before installing.
    Suggestions?
    Thx

Soak in gasoline, then blast with brake cleaner. That's what works best for me, for things that don't come apart. How is that for ecologically friendly...

I can't imagine those bearings don't come out of the cups
If you didn't build the trail, don't mess with it.

Stopped into the shop at lunch.
Guy also thought the bearing were pressed in.

He said " They're moving fine, just install it."
I may try to clean it ... something like your suggestion.
    Thx pal
