Default Arcadia - Sept 17th real early + MX trials?

I'm thinking about heading down to Arcadia doing a 3 hour loop, then heading over to Escoheag Road to watch the motorcycle trials for an hour or so. If you think bike trials are nutz, you should see what these guys can do. Amazing.

The trials meet starts at 11:00 so it would mean an 7:30 or 8:00AM start time.

    Default the Ride...

I met up with Jon on Sunday morning and we did a nice 15 or so mile ride at Arcadia. I have to either update "my" loop or relegate Arcadia to the winter only status its held historically. I mean there's some good sections, and the forest is absolutely beautiful, but overall the ride is a lot more XC than I'm used to doing at other places (Snip, Middlesex etc). That ledges section was sweet though... had a nice sideways slide wipeout. Tioga DH tires suck if you ride on the sideknobs.

One great thing was how well my bike performed. I haven't really done a non-technical XC ride on this bike. I had no problem pedalling it. Pro-pedal rules.

Incidentally at the end of the ride I was too beat and didn't have enough time to go see the MX trials. I heard it was great.

That was a peddlefest John. I have a
pro-pedal setting too that I didn't use, but for some reason don't think it would have helped much. The ledges were cool but not quite what I expected. That is, it doesn't appear to get much bike traffic. Maybe because it's hard to find? What would be good is if there was an xc trail that connected one end to the other so you could do repeat attempts trying diff. lines etc. I think I know my way around there now to do some exploring, thanks for leading!
