Bridge building plans
Hello all. I have just been approached today by the local State Park Ranger in Grafton Lakes State Park (eastern upstate NY), about assisting him in coming up with plans for a bridge over a wet area/creek on one of the mulit-use trails that was constructed last season. Does anyone have construction details for such a structure? It's basically an at-grade crossing, however it has to be wide enough and sturdy enough to sustain loads as large as horses and snowmobiles as well I am told.
If anyone knows someone at NEMBA to contact, please email me at NoFearATB@aol.com. The Ranger says he would like to get something together ASAP to submit to NYSDEC for review so construction could begin in the Spring of 2006. The area to be crossed is only 30 - 40 feet long, so a Boardwalk-type crossing would probably work well.
Thanks for your help everyone!!! Watch out for those hunters this weekend!!! ;D
