How are the trails in Arcadia and Big River??? I will be visiting RI and looking to ride on Monday and or Tuesday day. Are the trails ok or do I bring the road bike?
There is more rain forecast for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and they are'nt sure what Hurricane Wilma will be bringing, so maybe you should bring your inflatable boat!!!!!!
Haven't been anywhere in RI except LWoods since it rained (LW is absolutely fine to ride, there is really only one wet area).. I would guess BR would be OK with the usual wet spots due to the soil draining pretty well out there. I heard it was fine last week, this was before Saturday's rain but still, bring your MTB. Don't sweat it.
Not too bad out there last night. There was some water in places that I have never seen water before but it was running like a stream. I don't understand all of the details of ground water dynamics... In addition, any places that are traditionally wet, were wet. Most of the wet places have logs, bridges, or natural banks that are always used anyway. Overall, it was easily rideable. We did BR and Carr's areas.
Dan, let me know the next AM ride you are doing out there. Thursdays are tough because I need to be into work by 8:30. I was out there Wednesday morning at 7:00. The place is in great shape and the color is getting nice out there.
Will do BDEE, it was a last minute thing really, I didn't know I was going down there for sure until late Wed.
I'll be down next Tuesday?
