Default Brookline guy looking for ride and riding buddies

I am still somewhat new to the Boston area (moved here from FL Aug 2004. I have 2 great mountain bikes though, but have a hard time consistently getting out to ride. i am available EVERY weekend, but my usual riding buddy is a flake who plays video games way too much. I am a 25 year old male business professional living in the Brookline, MA, area. 617 780 8772--feel free to call anytime. i would love to go this weekend (Aug 13th or 14th)

I can see how video games are more exciting than riding good trails : If you have a car, there's a lot of rides you could get to. I would check bustedspoke.com and ragemtb.com for group rides. Also, bike shops in the area might host rides.

I'm not sure what kind of riding you're looking for, but vietnam in Milford, MA has technical riding, like Lynn, but with more flow. There's always someone riding there every weekend.

You are 9 miles from Blue Hills. that's about a half hour each way. Mapquest your way to the intersection of Brush Hill rd and canton ave. in Milton. that's about the closest edge of the reservation. Get a trail map at either Trailside Museum or across the first hill at the Houghton's pond side between the Horse stables and the state police barracks. The big HP parking lot is where many riders congregate. You will meet many riders on trails. The maps are good, and the trails well marked you won't get lost often. Once you figure it out, you'll be in charge. Don't start off by begging people for rides. Next, they'll think you want them to fix your flats, etc. Take charge of your life.
p.s. If you think BH isn't enough trail for your prophet, try Coon Holow. or Buck Hill.

Thanks for the first part of your post. As for the second, there is absolutely nothing wrong with reaching out to potentials in the area who may want someone regular to roll-out with. Drawing a parallel between not having a car and asking someone to change my diapers is a bit extreme. I would rather XC for 18 miles or so rather than bike 9 miles, mtn bike 12-whatever, then bike 9 miles back home. Further, it would be great to find people in my immediate who are into the same extreme things that I am, becuase I constantly meet people that live far outside of the city.

    Cheers,

    Kris
