Today's ride
Man the weather was NICE today. Slider, ravedjg and myself hit Case in CT. It was a great ride. While I tried to impart the difficulty of this place on Rave, I'm not sure I did a very good job of that, though he seemed to catch on pretty well by the 4th or 5th mile. :
He was a real trooper and hung on right up until the last 1/2 mile or so, just in time for the long downhill out. There seems to be some kind of pattern of me killing people at this place. I'll take some of the blame, but there's only so much I can do with this many hills and rocks.
I also got to witness Slider's "Bee Dance", you know that five second freak out when you realize you're standing on a bee nest, usually it happens somewhere between the second and third sting. Slider's is awesome! ;D He got three stings, I got one.
Couple of bad pics:

Brian who hit this seven footer (we met him on the trail):

Re:Today's ride
I rode today with my usual suspects, along with Body2Big and his wife. We rode Foxboro from the Ranger Station. I took them on a challenging, but not too difficult route to the top of High Rock Road, where the microwave tower is. Body2Big and Tammy decided to bail, because Tammy was getting tired, so I gave them directions back. The rest of the group then hammered out 5 more miles.
Group shot climbing the fire road from the ranger station.

One by one, everybody came around this corner.
Johnny D was first

Then Body2Big

His wife Tammy

and Comtom1 sweeping.

Re:Today's ride
Funny you mentioned the bees. I rode yesterday in Central Mass and stopped for a break on top of this rock pile. I heard a ton of buzzing and thought the horseflies were after me again. Nope, it was a ton of bees shooting up out of a hole in the ground I was perched over. The bastards even chased me for a good hundred yards down the hill too. I escaped with just one sting in the shin.

Re:Today's ride
I went solo on Sunday; BadDNA was off joining the IKEA club and my other hooligan friends were off golfing or being boring. I crashed dropping down into the Goat Lock in Blackstone Heritage, landed in a tree, got up and promptly blew my chain on the next climbout. Fix chain, get on bike, 10 yards later chain is blown again.
Bike on my back, hike out of the woods... call for a ride and my day is done. Oh, I put a taco into my rim as well.
I want to get the new chain on and my rim all prettied up tonight so I can lead a HUFF ride this week...
Cheers,
-Andrew

Re:Today's ride
No, I know where it is, but I just can't describe where it is. I'll lead an easier ride sometime later this year, and we'll take this trail.
