calling all the ladies
Hi everyone, I am looking for some women to mountain bike with around my age (27) and skill level (beginner/intermediate). Some of my favorite kinds of trails are technical but fun like in Exeter, NH and Vietnam. I mostly ride with men that challenge me, but sometimes its nice to have a woman on the trail to chat with etc. If you are, or know any women interested please let me know! Thank you!

Re:calling all the ladies
So few girlys :'(
so many men :
It seems the numbers will never work out. How about we try a different approach.
We could have a girly ride where all are invited but if you are a male you have to ride like a girl. Please don't jump all over me. Its just a classification , not a judgement on how girls ride. You know as well as i that girl rides are different, not better or worse, just different. Otherwise why would girls be hunting for girl rides to go on.
Men could come and just ride along and listen without having to have the best story or the last word or even talk at all. There would be chances to see how fast you could go or how well you might ride a section, but no race or contest implied. Men could learn what it is girls are looking for on a ride and modify their behavior to suit the needs of others.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D stop laughing girls
Mabee not much chance, but we can dream cant we.

Re:calling all the ladies
I see this thread as getting divisive. I ride with mostly guys and I don't care if I'm the only woman. The guys I ride with are chill -- no bragging, showing off, attitude, etc. If someone's like that -- male or female -- I don't want to ride with them.

Hah! When was the last time you saw that happen? ;D
(But as for riding... I like my riding buddies just the way they are, male or female!)

Re:calling all the ladies
I can see that this might be taken the wrong way. Let me clarify, I do mostly ride with men and I enjoy it. They are great riders and i am excited to be a part of it. I am really just looking for women to ride with on occasion. I have noticed that there aren't that many and would like to meet some. If you happen to be a man, I will still ride with you and I am not trying to exclude anyone, just curious to see who is out there in my area.

Re:calling all the ladies
I didn't take it the wrong way (although some will)... I know it's sometime fun to ride with a different group.
There are a LOT of women riders out there... maybe many of us are just quiet! (That would not describe me, however) 8) Boston has a long history of women in mountain biking... in fact, NEMBA was founded by women!
Good luck!

Sign onto the womans email list and send out your request. Make sure you state your location because the list covers all of nemba's territory.

I didn't know that NEMBA was founded by women, that is neat! I am not even officially a member yet, I was just poking through to see who is out there. I guess women maybe just don't write in on the chat boards as much as the men do,
I will keep looking.. thank you

OldBroad,
Sorry I need to ask this, but how do I sign onto the women's email list?

Re:calling all the ladies
I forgot to put the big <sarcasm> disclaimer at the head of my post.
It's all for fun. I like boys too, in moderation.
The E-Mail list sign up is achieved by rolling over the digital nemba link in the left margin and clicking on the e-mail lists.
Then follow the directions there.

Z- I love how you added the braids.
