Jisch and I hit Bigelow today. For some reason, I was thinking the deep woods would offer a break from the heat. Well, I was right, for about five minutes.

We were in no hurry, and took regular cool-down breaks, at least until the deer flies convinced us to move on again. I felt OK through maybe 80% of the 2.5 hour ride. Good thing we gave up on the last climb-intensive loop. About four miles before we reached the cars, I got chills on a hammer-it-out climb. Not a good sign.

Anyway, we lived. Jisch had no time for a post-ride dip, so the Jetta's AC had to do the trick. My nasty heat-headache is just now easing.
