10th Annual Pedro's Mountain Bike Festival
    July 16-18, 2004
    Lanesboro, MA

Join us for all the fun at the 10th Annual Pedro's Mountain Bike Festival coming up this weekend, July 16-18, in the Berkshire Mountains in Lanesboro, Massachusetts.

The weather is looking favorable with only scattered thunderstorms predicted with highs in the mid 70's and evening lows in the mid 50's so it should be very comfortable.

Many new awesome trails have been built this year on the Brodie area property. Whether you're a beginner or expert, there's lots of great riding to enjoy.

Daily coverage of the Tour de France will be shown.

Many of the usual games and activities will be happening, including the Mud Bog and Slip n' Slide. Try out the awesome climbing wall which will be provided by Eastern Mountain Sports.

The Mavic/Lymphoma Research Foundation Charity Ride will follow a different route this year. We hope many of you will ride the Marathon for this great charity. For the first 200 marathoners who donate at least $5 over the $10 minimum contribution to ride the Marathon, Crank Brothers will reward you with one of their great Multi Five Tools.

Spring water will be available at the Festival from Stop & Shop Supermarkets by the gallon jug for 89cents. To simplify, 11 cents will be added to make it an even $1, and the 11 cents will be donated directly back to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. You can bring water with you to the Festival if you prefer.

Team Outback will be conducting Freeride and Downhill clinics at Jiminy Peak. A Separate clinic for women only will be held in addition to the open to all clinic on Saturday at 2pm at the mountain.

It will be a great weekend to enjoy some super mountain bike riding, renew old friendships, and make some new ones, and just plain have fun. You can check out www.pedrosfest.com for information on all the festivities and everything from directions to updates.

The one thing that stood out to me was the need to bring lots of water.

Steve, we were hoping you'd be our tourguide and help us find the goods.

I think they are using a different set of trails then what I usually ride. The festival is a little further north than where I do some weekend rides.

However, if the planned routes by the festival aren't so good, or you guys want to do our own "NEMBA forum" ride, Pittsfield State Forest / Potter Mountain isn't far away.

    Rant/Counter-rant

Man Pedro's bitchin' already started?(usually it doesn start until Sunday afternoon...shouldn't we all be in the pre-event anticipatory euphoria now? I don't blame water sponsors for backing out...mountain bikers are cheap bastards...its always the same...will you donate? will you donate? will you donate? but when it comes to helping the sponsors out with a little bizness, friggin mountain bikers go to whoever has the cheapest crap...myself included... I don't even remember who the water sponser was last year, but I tell you what, I loved their free water...so you have to pay a whole dollar for a bottle of spring water...TS!...oh yeah, we're getting gouged on that...better call consumer affairs.

Alright enough instigatin' Its almost time for Pedro's. Yes, Im counting on the rain (don't kid yourself). See you guys there....I'll be under the bikerag tent pretending to work but really just working on another beer.
