Vietnam Tuesday Night Trailwork (TNT) 2011

It's that time of year again! The Vietnam Land Management Committee (VLMC) would like to invite you to join us for a new season of trail building.

We're changing it up a bit this year and working on the first and third Tuesday from now until the Fall. See the flyer below for exact dates. We'll be out tweaking existing trails and trail features and adding some exciting new stuff for your riding pleasure. All are welcome and no special skills or tools are required.

Tuesday Night Trailwork Details: Meet at the top of the cell tower hill at 5:45 PM or whenever you can get there. (Check this space for cancellations and updates on exact work locations or check out our Twitter feed and Facebook page.) If no one is waiting at the top of the hill, head for the kiosk and follow the orange flags to the work site. Flags will follow the trail and be well placed at all intersections.

Bring water, BUG SPRAY, and gloves. We have tools, but if you happen to have a McLeod, rock bar, or other favorite trail tool go ahead and bring it! We're done when the sun goes down.

We were out last night doing maintenance on DLS. We had a good crew of about 10. Here's a few pics and a time lapse video (Courtesy of Eammon and his GoPro).

Due to the wet weather, we're canceling for tonight - 5-17-11. We'll be back out on 6-7.

Sorry everyone, we're all tied up with other activites tonight and we're going to cancel trailwork this evening (7/5). See you back out in two weeks.

Following the weekend storm we've received reports of many blow-downs in Vietnam. We will be on the trails tomorrow evening with chainsaws clearing as much as we can. We could use all the help we can get in order to deal with this as quickly as possible. If you are available tomorrow to lend a hand we would appreciate it. Meet at the kiosk between 5:30-6pm. If you have a bow saw to bring it would be appreciated, please do not bring any additional power tools however.

Thanks to all the people who came out to help last night. We almost finished our property and we'll be spreading out to clear the rest of Vietnam in the coming days. More info will be posted as we make plans.

Vietnam Trailwork is canceled tonight. The VLMC is having a planning meeting for this weekend's trail day. Email us if you're interested in joining us for the meeting tonight.
