Boston Hill North Andover MA

Location: Brightview construction site Route 114 North Andover MA (former location of base lodge for old Boston Hill Ski Area). Map.

Final build day at Boston Hill. A couple of boardwalks and a connector trail at the bottom. Tractor will again be on site to move lumber.

Bring gloves, sturdy footwear, and water/snacks. We will have plenty of tools, but feel free to bring your own pick mattock, hammer, hand saw, items appropriate for boardwalk work.

Lunch will be provided, and a ride could well take place in the afternoon at Ward Reservation.

Due to the terrain and type of work, and unlike most of our trail days, rain or poor ground conditions may cause a cancellation. Look for a confirmation by 5/18.

Since it's May now, the permit defines the time period from now until October as 'snake season', and we can't do any work on the trail without a 'snake expert' with us. She's free today so we need to take advantage of that and get some work done. The trail is about 80%, and still needs some tough love. If you can make it, PLEASE CALL ME 781-254-8796 ! I'll let you know where to meet and exactly when. Tools and guidance provided. Plan to work about two hours.

This is part of the Western Greenway, which NEMBA supports and has helped develop:

Dear Friends of the Beaver Brook Reservation,

We completed about half of the landscape fabric installation to the
long boardwalk on the Western Greenway Trail west of the Avalon at
Lexington Hills housing complex this past Sunday. We are scheduling a
second work date for this coming Sunday, April 28 to finish the work
before the grass gets a head start this season. We will meet at 12:30
at the Cart Path Lane trail entrance off of Walnut Street in
Lexington. Tools will be provided but if you have a hammer or staple
gun, please bring it. Join us later in the afternoon if you can't meet
us at 12:30.

The BUCK HILL Trail building project in Blue Hills continues this coming weekend, both Saturday and Sunday April 27th and 28th. We need your help!

We will meet at Houghton's Pond Parking lot at 8:30AM (both days) to register all volunteers, and then break into groups. Tools will be provided.

Come prepared with work boots, long pants, gloves, and bring water and a snack. We will work until noon, and lunch will be provided.
