View Full Version : Sunday, 1PM, Georgetown/Rowley SF

February 13th, 2003, 11:17 PM
I just got back from riding a little more than 10 miles at Georgetown/Rowley SF. The snow has firmed up really well there and I was actually able to ride today. Average speed was about 7mph as opposed to 4mph last weekend. I'll be riding there Sunday. The weather is supposed to stay cold so the snow should stay firm and good to ride on. Studded tires are not needed, and would actually make things tougher. Wide tires would be better, but narrower ones will work OK too if you let a bunch of air out. I'll be riding for about 2-2.5 hours. There will be plenty of stops, and the pace will be moderate. Meet at 1pm, ride almost immediately. Need directions? It was OK yesterday. I was out for over 2 1/2 hours yesterday, rode almost 11 miles and stayed warm the whole time. I don't think that the winds are supposed to be as strong today either.
