I rode at Georgetown/Rowley SF today and the trails have firmed up really well. My average speed for the day was about 7mph which is a really big improvement over last weekend's 4mph. Studs are not needed, they'll actually probably just make things harder. Large volume tires are a help, but 2.1 or less will work OK if you let some air out. With the cold weather the trails should stay this way through the weekend. Get out and ride!
