sweet now that i was directed here from the tech section i now know what i need to turn my candy ogange steel kona into a single speed lets see if i got this right 1/surley singulator 2/cor spacers 3/single chainring bolts 4/single cassett cog 4/ 32/18 gears 5/ ability to take a lot of punishment in the legs. if i forget something let me know this is my first attemt at bulding and or riding one ..viva the revolution the ,one speed one that is !!.............thank for the help

That "candy orange steel-framed Kona" wouldn't be a Humu Humu Nuku Nuku A' Pua A' would it?

ah another language i do not reconize no actull it a mid 90's lava dome and the first mountain bike i bought it is a sweet frame and i have had it around for the last year or so cuz i bought another bike and i just cant seem to want to part with my old kona so i figured what the hay ill turn it into a one speed it might not even cost all that much to buld hopfully it turns out real nice for under four hundred bucks

just wanted to let everyone know i finished my ss thanks to the info i got here i bult it all my self and it even works,parts list / 1 steel kona frame,mavic crossride wheelset(great deal thanks to my LBS),shimano lx brake levers,surly singulator,profile 80mm stem,profile 1.5" riser bars,new saches chain,some cog spacers,platform pedals,an old 5 screw shimano crank, 32/18 gears,and some elbow grease it all works with good chain alingment and everything. ive only got to take it for a ride a couple of times cuz the weather up here is not all that great theres still snow on the ground. anywhoo thanks for all the help :)
