As we all know, state budget cutbacks trickle down to local cities and towns. As part of these cutbacks, the City of Lynn plans to eliminate the Ranger Program at Lynn Woods. This would be disastrous to the park and NEMBA is working to help rescue this program in some form. Please contact me if you are a resident of Lynn and/or if you know somebody on the City of Lynn Water & Sewer Commission, City Council or in the Mayor's office.
I know a lot of you are very connected to Lynn and will want to help out even if you don't live in Lynn or know somebody in one of these offices. Having spoken to Ranger Dan Small we do not believe that a large-scale letter writing campaign or phone calls to city hall will help and in fact may cause harm at this time. This is s very touchy situation and there are details that we have been asked not to discuss widely so I ask for your patience. As soon as we know more we will let everybody know what is going on.
