We are planning to ride tomorrow night (Thursday, 01.23.2002) from my place in Bedford, MA at 5:45pm. We will be heading toward Concord on the railtrail extention. Terrain is packed and bumpy in places. You'll want syudz for the ride to the trail and for any unexpected ice ( like maybe the Concord river ;)

Dress warm.

Punch and Pie after.

That is all ...

It shouldnt be too bad if we stick to the woods. Who is bringing the ladder to pull PK out of the river after he goes "river riding"?

No ladder but I'll be bringing some "anti-freeze" for sure.

So, anyone else interested or are you all soft? Rumor has it that Hogboy aka Minglee the Vietnamese prostitute may take a break from the day job (working the rest stops on RT3) and show for the ride ;)

Remember, today is the 1st day of the rest of your life.

Might be the last day of your life, too.

Soft....would be the one out riding tonight.

Two problems with tonight
1. It's like Siberia right now.
2. Wife said no F-ing way when I asked her. I'm pretty much whipped.

Notha time.

To all you wuss' out there that didn't show, you missed a good ride. We rode for just over 2 hours and did just under 20 miles. Trails were excellent and super hard packed. If you got off trail you were done, but if you stayed on it was sweet!

Oh yea, it was cold but my feet were the only issue. If I could just get them set, everything would be grand.

Same time next week.

Good show Couch!

That's a pretty quick pace for snowy woods. Geeze think I might slow you down a bit, or have a heart attack out there.

If you know CPR, I'll try to join ya.

Yeah, only two people had to bail part way thru the ride! ;D

Luckily, one went back had a really tasty dinner ready to warm us up!

The pace was good and the stops were few. That was good because it was COLD!

I was amazed home good Estabrook was. Absolutely awesome!

Good stuff for sure. We'll be back at it next Thursday as well and it will hopefully be a little bit warmer.

Oh, and don't anyone worry about holding PK up. You won't as he just doesn't wait ;)

OK guys...
I'm dumb, but not stupid.
or maybe it's the other way around. ???

Anyway, I can see this is the ole bait and switch trick, eh?
Couch provides the ever so inviting ride posting. Then PK leads it and you all laugh at the new guy choking on your dust with his lungs hanging out. :-[

I see now, why PK does not announce his rides. His would go like "Come join for a physically & mentally demoralizing ride. None will be waited for!" Yea, the truth would not work too well now would it?
Maybe I'll just show for dinner and drinks. :)

Tomorrow (Thurs 01.30.2003) is supposed to be way warmer than last week. We are planning to ride again. Let me know if interested and I'll give you the details.

Looks like we are a go to give it a try thise Thursday. I'm certain that conditions won't be as good as last week, given the new snow, but with all of the rain followed by the expected cold snap, it should harden back up nicely.

Lemme know if interested.

We are a go for tonight. Riding is OK, on anything packed, though not nearly as good as the last few weeks.

Bundle up as it is gonna be cold again, I believe. 5:45pm show and go, my place, Bedford.

To everyone who didn't make the ride, you missed an AWESOME time. We did a mix of packed snow trail and road and got in a cool 19 or so miles. Good time for sure. We even hit the Burlington Mall, just for fun.

Event was concluded by watching Hogboy try to shovel his high-centered 4Runner of my snow bank ;)

Ah, the pleasure of lactic acid leg pain! Indeed, a glorious ride, and a great combo of suburban assault, icy trails and ballistic road riding. Justbill would have loved it! ;)

I thought hogboy's plan was to get his car stuck so he'd have to spend the weekend with you!

I don't know PK, i usually like to be out a little longer. What did couch say , you did like 19 miles? Thats like 10 minutes riding on one of your rides. The getting left behind in the dark on the road without lights in the cold and not knowing my way back part might be interesting.
No, on second thought, it was better that i spent a quiet night at home hitting myself in the head with a hammer. I know it sounds unpleasant, but i enjoy it for the same reason i enjoy riding with you.
It feels so good when you stop!!
