Hmmm..........I'll give this one a shot with all live music so here goes:
1. The Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East
2. Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Live Rust (I think it has a slightly different title)
3. Horslips - The Belfast Gigs - Live from the Whitla Hall (Great Irish Rock - Pre-U2!)
4. Fish - Uncle Fish and his Electric Bear, Live from the Haddington Corn Exchange
5. Porcupine Tree - Coma Divine - Live from Rome, Italy
6. 7 Nations - Live at the Palace - Palace Theater Albany, NY
7. Marillion - MarillionRochester - A live fan only recording from a concert in Rochester, NY at which I was present...sentimental choice
8. Rush - Stages Live (something like that)- a 3 CD collection from three eras of Live Rush (it's actually a friends and I need to return it, but what the hell I'm including it here anyway)
9. 10,000 Maniacs - Unplugged - Another sentimental CD as I'm a huge Maniacs fan (such a shame that Robert Buck passed away so young.......an amazing guitarist and great guy)
10. 7 Nations - Road Kill Live
Big Game
January 22nd, 2003, 03:55 PM
2. Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Live Rust (I think it has a slightly different title)
You're not thinking about "Weld," by any chance are you?
"Cortez, cortez...what a killer."
That's one of my favorite live tunes. It speaks to that part of me that I try to I cover up with phoniness and lies because the truth is too painful.
No, I'm not talking about my ass.

Docken? ??? Quiet Riot?? ??? ??? Poison... Oops, I mean "Posion" ??? ??? ??? ??? What about Twisted Sister and Ratt and Motley Crue? Maybe a little Ronnie James Dio or Cinderella (cough, cough...homos). How about Warrant? Oh, how could we forget (please let me forget) Bon Jovi.
Wow, somebody is way stuck in the hair band 80's. I mean... Quiet Riot? Yea, Metal Health will surely drive you mad if you are stuck with this on a deserted island. I think Quiet Riot might be playing these days at a high school dance near you, if you want to catch them.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I have friends, also, that are still stuck in the 80s. I tried to talk them into going to see Tool. They said Tool sucks. Of course, when I pressed them, neither of them even knew any Tool songs because they were too busy listening to some crappy Kiss CD to actually notice good music.
I don't really mean to insult anyone.
Ok, I do mean to insult. I mean... Docken? ??? ???

Mr Cheese ,
Come on. We know that if and old hairband tune came on the radio .you would sit the and bang ur head. Sure were not all playing the cd's any more, but if I here a song that I liked back in the 80's I'll get into it. I would rather listion to them than some of the new shite out today. Dokken rocked dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I do when I hear an old Poison or Cinderella or, yes, even a Docken song is to change the station before i hurl, dude.
I agree that much of what passes for rock music on the radio these days sucks. Yea, I used to listen to some of that 80s retro rock... in the 80s. But I was young and didn't know any better and we all go through growing pains.
It's like drinking wine. Once you like the better stuff, you just can't go back to the old crap.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds...........this is a band that I've heard songs from, but never an entire CD......can you recommend a good intro to Nick Cave CD as an initial purchase so I can get a better sense?
Thanks!!

Hot Tuna In A Can is 6 Hot Tuna CDs both acoustic and electric. You should come to my gig on the 15th if you're into them, I'll be doing a lot of Acoustic Hot Tuna/Jorma tunes.
Also will be doing some Nick Cave and Dylan
as far as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds...
I have ALL of his cds, am a HUGE FAN!!
check out Live Seeds or The Best of. When you hear a song you like, pick up the album it came off of. Nick has gone thru many phases:
mellow cd: The Good Son
classic favorites among fans: Let Love In, Henry's Dream
newest album: And No More Shall We Part.
get any one of these, you'll be happy.
if you like those ones, check out Murder Ballads, Tender Prey.
Then check out Murder Ballads.
the rest you can get later if you're into Nick

Those nights on this deserted island will stretch out mighty long, sitting on the sand, by your palm frond fire, eating coconuts, scratching sand flea bites, so, you might as well bring a personal DVD player (along with the solar powered batteries) that way you can listen to music and watch movies while you wait for rescue. :)
So....music:
Folkways: A Vision Shared
sound track to Oh, Brother Where Art Thou
David Bromburg, Out of the Blues
Bob Dylan,Blood On the Tracks
Beatles, Past Masters Vol I
