I was riding last weekend in Freetown. I haven't been there for a while and noticed several new trail markers posted. These Signs were Red Triangles with the letters "ORV".

So my questions is this. "Are ATVs, which I would assume fall under the ORV category, now allowed in Freetown?"

Also, there seems to be a lot of posts in the forum about the damage that ATVs do to the trails. Can someone let me know how they do more damage than MX? Other than widening the existing trails. I just don't see it.

Thanks, Dave

According to the DEM web site ATV's are not allowed in Freetown SF

Looks like Freetown is dirtbike only, no ATV's. I know that there are a number of moto races helf in Freetown each year as well as national level moto trials events occasionally. Oh, you do need valid MA ORV registration to ride your dirtbike in Freetown or any of the other state parks allowing ORV use.

only 2 wheeled dirtbikes are allowed in freetown. responsible atv doesnt damage trails. its the irresponsible non registered atver/mxers/people who just dont care that damage trails
