Go into your profile at the top of any page here. Scroll down until you see "Personalized Picture". There, you can pick one of the Avs provided, or you can use any pic you like from the 'Net. (Just make sure it's a decent size to begin with, don't want it to be gigundously huge...)
If you pick one from the 'Net, right-click the pic, then select "Properties". Where it says "Address (URL)", there will be an http://www.whatever. Highlight this, and then right-click it and select "copy".
Finally, come back here to your Profile, to the "Personalized Picture", and where it says "I have my own pic", select it to make a checkmark in the small box, and then right-click the loong box, and select "paste" to put the URL in. That oughtta do it.

??? I'm new to this whole online thing.... in other words I don't know S@#t.. What I need to know besides everything, is how do I get my profile to stay once I have filled it out ??? done it three or ten times... no computer skills yet... ...not even how to get all the free porn my hard drive can handle...

When you've got it all filled out the way you want it, you have to go to the bottom of the page and click "Change Profile".
If it's still screwing up even though you're doing that... I have no clue.

Man I dont want to be a Llama anymore

From the main NEMBA Online Forum page go to your profile. Change the text from "I'm a llama" to whatever you want it to say. Click the "update profile" button. Now click on one of the Forum links. (Do not use your "back" button). The text should be changed. Check anything you have posted and see if the text is different.

Avatars:

Copy and paste the link (from the pic you found on the web or your own custom pic from your HD) into the box on your profile AND check the box to the left of the link that says I have my own picture. Then "Update Profile" again. Make sure the pictures you use are relatively small. (probably 1" x 1" max)

Right click on this pic, choose save picture as from the menu, and save it. Now copy and paste the resized pic's address into your profile. (If you are using Windows XP, hover your mouse pointer over the resized pic and click the disk icon to save it).

Okay. Right-click on the picture. Select "properties". Where it says "Address (URL): http://www.whatever", highlight the http://... and copy it and then go into your profile and paste it...

You can also click on: Resize_of_Resize_of_scooby.jpg and the picture will open in it's own (new) window. Now you can right click on the picture, choose save as, and the pic name and type should come up automatically. (It did for me, as a jpeg) Now add it to your profile as detailed in the earlier post.

Another suggestion would be to give your login name and password to someone else and let them add the smaller pic for you, and then change your password after it is done.
